Here’s one for Debs.
Everybody approves of a war on poverty, but not quite everyone realizes that to provide the poor with resources, those with superfluous resources will have to give those up. The people with too little are a direct result of those with too much. Consider a man who owns a lake. If he does not give up some of his water when there is a drought, the water is essentially his fault. Even if he dug the hole the lake formed in, and earned the water, it’s still his fault when the drought kills those with no water.
The war on poverty and the war on wealth are the same war.
